Beekeeping in Russia

There are about 3.5 million bee colonies in Russia. The average honey production is about 120 thousand tons per year. Russia fully satisfies its needs for honey due to its own production and since 2014 has been a net-exporter of honey.

Work with Youth

The Union annually organizes trips to the International Meeting of Young Bee-keepers (IMYB).
It organizes and conducts competitions of children’s drawing, researches in bee-keeping, forums, conferences, seminars, symposia, briefings, meetings. It takes an active part in organizing exhibitions, fairs and other events in Russia and abroad.

National Competitions

The Union annually organizes and holds both scientific and practice-oriented events, meetings, round tables. It establishes awards, prizes, special titles, other incentives for special contribution to the bee-keeping development; organizes and conducts creativity competitions, competitions of scientific papers, articles, research works.
Members of the Union provide consulting assistance to regional organizations of the Russian Federation. The Union closely cooperates and interacts with representatives of foreign countries: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Transdniestria, Armenia, Georgia, Slovakia.

Biggest Association

“The Union of bee-keepers and bee-keeping organizations of the country” – the biggest Association of bee-keepers in Russia unites about 75 regions of the Russian Federation.
“The Union of bee-keepers and bee-keeping organizations of the country” was established in March 2014, registered with the Ministry of justice of the Russian Federation. The main task of the Union is to create conditions for the successful development of the bee-keeping industry, as well as to unite and attract all healthy forces in the country ready to contribute to the revival of the industry and its development for the benefit of people and makes every effort and their capabilities to achieve their goals and objectives.
In 2018 the Union was the organizer of the XXII Apislavia Congress -2018 which was successfully held in Moscow.
